Nashville, TN - Qualle, a logistics software platform that helps all stakeholders better utilize empty ocean containers, announced today that it has raised $1.5 million in a pre-seed funding round. The funds will be used to build out the company's trucking partners and develop new software that will be incorporated into the existing platform to help all stakeholders participate.
Since launching in May 2022, Qualle has quickly built up a substantial trucker base that spans from the LA and Long Beach ports to New York, New Jersey, Savannah, Houston, and Memphis ports. The company has plans to be in every US and Canadian port by the end of the year.
Currently, the company partners with steamship lines to interface with the trucking community and help truckers reuse empty containers more efficiently.
"This funding will and has allowed us to accelerate our mission to revolutionize the way empty containers are looked at and used within the Drayage space," said Tyler Sellers, CEO of Qualle. “Currently the process of reusing empty containers for export moves is cumbersome and slow. Our system allows truckers to scale this much easier and efficiently. Add the other stakeholders into the ecosystem and you can quickly cut into the loaded exports that leave the US that are currently reliant on round trips. That is, sending drivers into the ports to grab empties. That should not happen in a country that imports far more than they export, there are more than enough empty import containers on the streets to match with export freight. You just need to connect the dots. Our goal is to get empty containers out of the hands of those who do not need them and into the hands of those who do and so far it’s working.”
With the pre-seed funding secured, Qualle is well-positioned to continue its rapid growth and become the go to platform for all things related to the other side of the container lifecycle, the empty side.
"Qualle's marketplace provides a centralized platform for truckers to exchange empties with fellow truckers, it eliminates the traditional blast emails or group messages and creates visibility and records of all actions,” said Lisa Wan, the Director of Operations of Roadex America. “The Qualle team continues to improve on their platform to allow truckers to do street turns as easy as just clicking a few buttons. We foresee Qualle's marketplace will be a future solution for easy street turns and exchanges for all truckers and exporters."
